Care
Here at Broomy Hill Nursing Home, we provide simple and complex nursing for loved ones diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. We also offer residential care, nursing care, respite care and palliative/end-of-life care.
Our nurses and carers are passionate about providing the highest standards of dementia care by creating personalised care plans for each resident. We address their physical, mental and spiritual needs to ensure daily life is as fulfilling as possible. We utilise a Care Control system, which allows you to keep track of the care your loved one receives and ensures swift, thorough care can be given at all times.
Our nurses and visiting health professionals provide additional care for residents from our brand-new medication and treatment room. Designed for careful treatment that puts your loved one at ease, there’s a clinical couch for consultative visits and the room features the latest infection control measures.
Your loved one can also enjoy the relaxation and therapeutic benefits of our new, state-of-the-art Gainsborough bath. With an integrated seat and leg-lift, and height-adjustable hoist system, residents can be lowered into a warm and welcoming bath.
We also now offer a day care service, so your loved one can come and spend the day with us to relax in a welcoming and friendly setting. They’ll enjoy a home-cooked meal, take part in activities and enjoy a spot of afternoon tea while receiving one-on-one care from our fantastic team. Rooms
While Broomy Hill Nursing Home was once an early 1900s school, it has since been through a huge modernisation programme to ensure it has all the up-to-date facilities you might hope to find and more. With open communal spaces, a garden suite and a large family room, Broomy Hill provides residents with everything they need for maximum comfort and enjoyment.
Your loved one will feel at home in one of our modern but comfortable bedrooms, with blackout curtains to aid with sleep, a vanity unit and a call button. New soft furnishings and dementia-sensitive colour palettes give rooms a light, airy and comforting feel.
Set over two floors with a lift for ease of access, the décor and layout have been designed to support our residents requiring specialist memory care. Your loved one will feel at ease with the dementia-friendly layout, with a personal memory box outside their door for familiarity. Residents are also welcome to bring their own furnishings to help them feel right at home from the moment they begin their stay.
Dining
With a focus on ensuring each resident receives the nutrition and hydration required for health and wellbeing, every meal at Broomy Hill Nursing Home is carefully prepared in-house, with additional measures taken for our residents living with dysphagia. If required your loved one’s meal will be pureed for them, yet still well-presented and nutritionally balanced. Where possible, our chefs use fresh ingredients and local sourced produce, and pay close attention to tastes and preferences to serve classic but delicious meals every day.
Freshly baked cakes and biscuits are available for your loved one’s morning and afternoon teas, and hot and cold drinks are provided throughout the day.
Friends and family are welcome to join us at meal times to enjoy a bite to eat with your loved one, but we please ask that you give us notice.
Activities
Physical and mental activities are important for cognitive health, and we encourage residents to get involved in daily activities. Based on personal care plans, our dedicated activities coordinators organise meaningful activities such as games, exercises, music and art. We also regularly welcome outside entertainers into Broomy Hill, such as live singing and therapy animal experiences.
Your loved one can also enjoy our accessible garden or, if they enjoy gardening, they can spend their days planting in our raised bedded areas. We also have an in-house salon for residents to indulge in a little pampering.

Our residents are free to spend their time doing as they like.
