Care Services
Care
Moorhouse offers 24-hour personal residential care, as well as specialist care services including dementia care, respite care for short stays and palliative care to support end-of-life.
Your loved one will be taken care of by our team of registered nurses and trained carers, who use their experience and expertise to deliver empathetic care. Where possible, we give residents the choice to receive care from a male or female member of our team to ensure they’re always comfortable, and arrange for private healthcare visits, such as dentistry, when necessary.
We’re proud to use Care Control systems, which streamline our admission processes to allow us to dedicate more time to caring for your loved one. For more information, contact our team today.
Rooms
Moorhouse has a selection of rooms to suit all needs, preferences and budgets. Our rooms range from full-comfort standard to deluxe ground-floor bedrooms, each with a private ensuite and doors to the patio and gardens.
All rooms are furnished with everything your loved one needs for comfort: a bed, telephone, wardrobe, dressing table and wash basin. We also encourage residents to bring personal belongings and furnishings with them to make their room truly feel like home.
Our bedrooms are spread across three floors, each easily accessible by stairs, stairlifts and lift. Every bedroom is fitted with a contact alarm point should they need to alert our team, to help give you peace of mind during your loved one’s stay with us.
Dining
Your loved one will enjoy homemade, nutritionally-balanced, meals cooked fresh by our in-house, chef, with menus built around their preferences using locally-sourced produce where possible. We cater to all dietary needs and preferences and hold a five-star food rating.
Our residents also enjoy mid-morning and mid-afternoon teas, featuring fabulous cakes, cheeses and biscuits, and provide hot and cold drinks throughout the day. We also welcome you to join your loved one for meals in the dining room, but we please ask you to let us know ahead of time.
Activities
We invite all our residents to take part in our full range of activities and social events, held in our own private activities room with our activity coordinator. Activities are led by your loved one’s preferences and abilities, and occasionally welcome external visitors to host activities, such as singing classes.
Our extensive range of activities and events include:
– A monthly visit from Haslemere Museum
– Landscaped gardens for those with a passion for gardening
– Arts and crafts
– Famileo – Personalised family newspaper
– Musical entertainment
– One-on-one activities, including hand massages, reading newspapers and crosswords
Outside the range of activities included in our weekly fees, we also provide personal care options for your loved one to enjoy, from professional hairdressing and manicures, to individual copies of magazines and newspapers.
Meet the Manager
Alison
Home Manager
I am the manager at Moorhouse and have worked in the care sector for over 20 years. I have held a variety of roles over the years, but have always enjoyed being a Registered manager and creating a positive change in the homes I have worked in. I enjoy working closely with my teams as you can not help but create tight bonds. I feel passionately about the well-being of the residents that are entrusted to my care. My goal is to give each and every one of our residents the chance to live their best life in a safe and caring environment – a real home from home.

Moorhouse is an Edwardian country house in the idyllic village of Hindhead in Surrey. It was originally built as the first hotel in the area by famous English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, designed for affluent Edwardians. Many of the original features remain intact and the hotel’s porcelain plates are still on full display.
Today, Moorhouse is the home-from-home for a close group of 36 elderly care residents who require support with general living, as well as dementia care on both a short and long-term basis.
As well as Moorhouse in Hindhead, Surrey, we have a collection of nursing and care homes across the UK, each offering exemplary service and unbeatable care. Get in touch to find out more about Moorhouse.
