The Home

Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home sits in 17 acres of private grounds in Brechfa Forest, with stunning views across the Duar Valley from almost every bedroom and communal area. The house is home to no more than 44 elderly men and women requiring nursing, residential and dementia care. Our home focuses on delivering exceptional standards of personalised care and ensuring residents and their families feel supported and respected.

The Role

Role Overview

  • Position: Wellbeing Co-ordinator
  • Location: Allt Y Mynydd
  • Setting: Residential dementia care home for up to 44 elderly men and women.
  • Key Objective: Deliver engaging, person-centered activities that enhance residents' physical, mental, and social well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Activity Planning and Execution:
  • Create a comprehensive Calendar of Events, including both group and one-to-one activities.
  • Arrange entertainment and ensure activities remain within the monthly budget.
  • Organize seasonal events and outings that bring joy and variety to the residents' lives.
  • Resident Engagement:
  • Regularly liaise with the Home Manager to tailor activities based on individual residents' abilities and preferences.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents to better understand their interests and needs.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain proper documentation for activities and budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with families, residents, and the care team.
  • Flexible Schedule:
  • Cover a schedule that spans seven days a week, ensuring residents have continuous access to enriching activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience: Not essential; full training and support will be provided.
  • Warm, empathetic, and personable demeanour.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for planning engaging activities.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle scheduling and documentation.
  • Energy and a positive attitude to share with residents.
  • Desirable Qualities:
  • Genuine passion for working with elderly individuals, particularly those with dementia.
  • A proactive approach to fostering a welcoming and stimulating environment.
