Here at the Weir Nursing Home, we support our residents by offering specialist Dementia care, residential care, nursing care,, respite care and palliative care. We prioritise our residents’ comfort and wellbeing to ensure they have everything they need, in a warm and familiar environment.

Our expert team of trained nurses and carers specialise in caring for residents with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and other forms of dementia. We provide a customised care plan, which we record using a Care Control system, which also ensures you can keep track of the care your loved one receives. It also helps our team spend less time on administration tasks so we can focus on delivering swift and thorough care to our residents.

We encourage our residents to spend their time doing what they love, whether it’s enjoying a book in our fully-stocked library, taking a stroll and spot of gardening across our fabulous grounds, or taking part in one of our many activities arranged by our in-house activities coordinator.

We listen to each of our residents to make sure they can keep doing their hobbies, interests and whatever makes them happy. Activities can be enjoyed in a group, or on a one-on-one basis, and we take regular trips outside of the home to local attractions and the surrounding towns and villages.

Our activities include baking, arts and crafts, games, chair exercises and dancing. We also welcome entertainers into the home for a spot of live music and pet therapy.

At the Weir Nursing Home, we have a range of bedrooms, with a capacity of 35 residents. Most of our bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom, and we have the option for adjoining rooms for couples.

Every room includes modern furnishings and is equipped with a 24/7 call button for your peace of mind.

Our bedrooms are set across three floors, which can be accessed using our lift. Each room provides fantastic views across the Herefordshire countryside, including the winding River Wye and the nearby Black Mountains.

Your loved one is also welcome to bring their own furnishings and belongings, for an extra touch of familiarity to help them feel right at home.

Our in-house chefs plan every meal time to make sure each of our residents enjoys a home-cooked dish that fits all tastes, preferences and dietary requirements. We prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner on-site, cooked fresh daily using local ingredients where possible.

Between meals, we serve morning and afternoon snacks and tea, including homemade cakes and biscuits. Hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day.

Our residents are welcome to enjoy their meals in our dining room, in our beautiful garden, or the comfort of their own rooms.
