Our approach to nursing care

Every single one of our qualified and registered nurses is regulated by the appropriate governing body to provide expert care. We offer both simple and complex nursing, depending on which of our homes you choose. Our nursing care is always available, with emergency call buttons in every room alerting our team to your loved one’s needs at any hour.

Our experienced team put the heath and wellbeing of your loved one first. Whatever we can do to make them feel at home, we’ll strive to do – from home cooked, delicious meals to our huge range of activities. We create a home-from-home environment, regardless of the level of care your loved one needs.

What is nursing care?

Nursing care is the care given to our residents who have additional medical requirements and may be time-consuming and complex. This includes severe disabilities, advanced cognitive decline such as dementia and sensory impairment.

Nursing care ensures that a qualified, dedicated and experienced medical professional is available 24/7 to meet the needs of residents who have severe and complex illnesses, diseases and conditions.

Our registered nurses are trained to administer treatments, identify concerns and carry out timely medical interventions when needed. Whether it’s post-surgery care or support with an ongoing medical issue, our teams have the skills and experience necessary to meet your loved one’s specific healthcare and wellbeing needs.

Who is nursing care for?

Nursing care is for elderly residents who have medical conditions that mean simple residential care might not be quite enough, and to provide a positive impact on the life of your loved one, as well as your own. A skilled medical nurse will be on-hand 24/7 to offer one-on-one, personalised care so your loved one has their needs consistently and competently met at any time, day or night.

When is nursing care needed?

Nursing care is often required if your loved one has complex medical needs that may need professional assistance at any time throughout the day. This can include:

  • Post-surgery recovery
  • Terminal illness
  • Respiratory support
  • Neurological conditions
  • Wound care

Often, these conditions require the knowledge, skills and expertise of a medical professional, which goes beyond the care offered by other care home professionals. Carers will also provide day-to-day care for your loved one but with additional specialist treatments and services undertaken by a nurse.

What funding and support is available for nursing care?

We predominantly offer affordable nursing care for privately funded residents. If you or your loved one’s finances change, you may be eligible for financial support.
