Here at Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home, we offer support to our residents with residential care, nursing care, dementia care, respite care and palliative/end-of-life care. Our focus is on the comfort and wellbeing of your loved one, and provide our residents with everything they need to feel relaxed in a familiar setting.
We have an expert team of 6 registered nurses and 30 trained carers that offer customised, one-on-one care to each of our residents. We use a Care Control system to record your loved one’s care at all times, which you can access for peace of mind, and allows us to continually review and understand their care needs.
Most of our team, including our qualified nurses, carers, activity coordinators, housekeepers and maintenance and dining teams, speak and read Welsh as their first language. This helps our residents to feel right at home and maintain the family spirit we’re proud of here at Allt Y Mynydd.

Rooms
Allt Y Mynydd may be based in a sanitorium that is over a century old, but we’ve gone through a complete renovation that makes our facilities modern but familiar, so we can provide our residents with the very best of care. We have a range of open communal spaces and private grounds to ensure the comfort, enjoyment and care of our residents.
Rooms are located across two floors, each with its own lounge and a lift and purpose-built ramp for ease of access. There’s a range of rooms to suit budgets and needs, and every room offers views of the Welsh countryside and our own private grounds.
Your loved one is welcome to bring their own furnishings and belongings, to help them feel right at home from the moment they move in. No matter your loved one’s needs, their room is fitted with its own 24-hour call button. That way, you’ll have total peace of mind that there’s someone there for them any time, day or night.
Pets are also allowed to visit your loved one here at Ally Y Mynydd, but please ensure they are on a lead and kept in the resident’s room when inside the building.

Dining
Our in-house team carefully puts together a menu and cooks delicious, nutritionally balanced meals to suit the tastes and preferences of all residents. Your loved one can choose from a varied menu of classic, home-cooked meals prepared on-site with fresh ingredients, including vegetables and fruits grown by Allt Y Mynydd residents in our very own polytunnel.
Our chefs use local produce where they can, such as fruits, vegetables and dairy products, and create dishes that suit all dietary requirements. Morning and afternoon snacks include freshly-baked biscuits and cakes, and hot and cold drinks are always available.
Our residents can eat in the dining room or take afternoon tea in the conservatory or on the outdoor patio area. We also have our own retro café, where your loved one can enjoy the nostalgia in a 1940s- and 1950s-themed setting. Friends and family are always welcome to join us for meals.

Activities
At Allt Y Mynydd, your loved one’s days are filled with the things they enjoy the most. We’ll take the time to understand their hobbies, interests and beliefs before they join us, and they can take part in any activities and social events that suit them, in our activities room or on a one-to-one basis. Activities include arts and crafts, pottery classes, baking, pet therapy, chair-based exercises, afternoon matinees, dancing and karaoke.
For those who love the outdoors, there’s plenty of space for a gentle stroll in our 17 acres of private grounds, and peaceful seating areas so residents can enjoy the surrounding countryside. Our polytunnel greenhouse is ready for your loved one if they like to plant and potter.
Our residents can enjoy the personal services of our on-site hairdresser and visiting professional therapists who provide treatments such as physiotherapy and relaxing hand aromatherapy massages.
We also take trips out to the local garden and shopping centres, and even the local pub for a meal and drink. Residents can also choose destinations, with recent outings including Abaraeron Beach, The Royal Welsh Show and Ten Pin bowling at Xcel Bowl Carmarthen.
We believe in supporting our local community and often visit local schools for seasonal events and support the local fetes and carnivals.
